Your Settlement Is About to Get Haunted

This Halloween, players can purchase and place a Haunted Shrine in their settlement to collect Soul Embers while training their skills. The higher your settlement tier, the faster you'll accumulate Embers.

There's a trade-off, though. The Haunted Shrine occupies a building slot, meaning you'll have to sacrifice another building's usual bonus while using it.

Soul Embers are used to upgrade your Hollow Lantern, a special Halloween cosmetic that evolves through six increasingly impressive forms. Once you've unlocked all six, you can continue progressing through unlimited Haunt Levels.

Your lantern will appear beside your name on the highscores throughout Halloween, and you'll get to keep it on your public profile permanently as proof of your participation.

The Hollow Lantern is exclusive to Halloween 2026. Once the event ends on November 1 at 6 p.m. Eastern, you'll never have another chance to obtain or upgrade it.

Whatever form and Haunt Level you've reached when the deadline arrives will be permanently locked in. Next Halloween will introduce an entirely different collectible.

That means players have a limited window to push their lantern as far as possible. Train your skills, collect Soul Embers, upgrade your settlement, or spend wallet credit to speed things along.

Miss the deadline, and that's it. The Hollow Lantern is gone forever.
